Got a Tip?

Quentin Tarantino Says He Didn’t Fall Out With Will Smith Over ‘Django Unchained’ Plus New Pic From The Film

nullWhile Quentin Tarantino recently revealed that Idris Elba, Chris Tucker, Terrence Howard, M.K. Williams and Tyrese were among those he’s considered to lead "Django Unchained," it’s Will Smith whose name has always drawn the biggest buzz out of those early reports. And while Tarantino said in the midst of a Playboy interview that meeting with Smith “was an excuse for us to hang out and spend time with one another,” he insist that they’re still cool, even if it didn’t work out.

"He didn’t walk away from it because he was scared of the material. It just wasn’t 100 per cent right, and we didn’t have time to try to make it that way," Tarantino explains to Playboy about the conversations which took place during the shoot of "Men In Black 3." "We left with me saying, ‘Look, I’m going to see other people.’ He said, ‘Let me just see how I feel, and if you don’t find anybody, let’s talk again.’ And then I found my guy."

Then Quentin Tarantino met Jamie Foxx, they got along smashingly, and the rest is history.

Still one of the last unseen pictures of the year (though critic and guild types will start seeing it after Thanksgiving) "Django Unchained" arrives on Christmas Day. Check out the new pic from the film up top. [via ContactMusic]
