It’s not really a proper fall/winter film season without an earnest home-for-the-holidays movie. Thankfully, CBS Films (remember them?) are releasing “Love The Coopers” which of course looks at several generations of a family convening for the holidays, and conflicts, misunderstandings and hilarity ensue.

Directed by Jessie Nelson, this holiday confection has quite the cast including Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei, Olivia Wilde, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Alan Arkin and John Goodman. Here’s the official synopsis:
LOVE THE COOPERS follows the Cooper clan as four generations of extended family come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration. As the evening unfolds, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn to night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.
“Love The Coopers” is due in theaters November 13th and presumably can’t be any worse than similar large family dilemma fare like “This Is Where I Leave You” or recent holiday movies like “The Guilt Trip.” Or maybe it’s great! Watch the first trailer below and let us know what you think.
