Got a Tip?

Watch: First Trailer For Alfonso Cuaron’s Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Gravity’ Starring Sandra Bullock & George Clooney

Gravity, Sandra Bullock (skip)Perhaps a recap of the journey we’ve been on with “Gravity” is in order. Hell, just getting a cast in order is a story itself with Robert Downey Jr. and Angelina Jolie attached at various points, and after the latter left, a frantic search geared up to find a replacement for take the lead with Naomi Watts, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde and Blake Lively all being rumored/considered/wishlisted before Sandra Bullock signed on, followed shortly by George Clooney.

And then there’s been the hype: chatter about an apparently heavily CGI, 20-minute opening sequence; Guillermo Del Toro calling it 5-years ahead of its time; a 3D shoot that left Clooney hoping he’d never bother with the format again; a product that Bullock said will be “profoundly silent and big and loud and I don’t know how to explain because I have never seen anything like it” and finally, noise from a test screening last year that made certain folks freak out in anticipation.

And so, the full trailer is here to blow your minds …or not. Thoughts? To recap, the movie is a race-against-time thriller centered on two astronauts fighting to survive on a remote space station after satellite debris wipes out the rest of the crew and their ship, leading to frantic attempt to reach Earth. So, does thriller stoke your fires further or did you think it might be something different entirely?

“Gravity” lands on October 4th. The opening piece of music is an Arvo Pärt composition, btw. Oh and lastly. Yes, it’s mostly a two-hander between Bullock and Clooney, but Ed Harris has a small voice part in the film.
