When it comes to a relationship, trust is key, not only between the couple but also with respect to the family and loved ones. It’s not always easy, particularly when notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar is one of the folks on the perimeter you’ve got to keep satisfied. Certainly Josh Hutcherson’s character understand this in "Escobar: Paradise Lost" —a new trailer for the drama has arrived today.
Benicio Del Toro takes the titular role in this story about a young surfer (Hutcherson), who falls in love with Escobar’s niece (Claudia Traisac). Everything is great until the authorities start closing in on the drug lord, whose paranoia starts rising. And while it’s a great concept, it’s one that doesn’t quite work, with our review out of Telluride saying, "for all the tension that gets ratcheted up once the character stuff gets put away, the film still feels like it should have ‘Opportunity Lost’ as its real subhead."
"Escobar: Paradise Lost" arrives on iTunes on December 16th, and in theaters a month later on January 16th. Watch below, and check out some new pics.
