Watch: New Japanese 'The Avengers' Trailer Reveals Gwyneth Paltrow Is In This Too

nullUpon seeing the new Japanese trailer for "The Avengers," you'll have to agree that there's something about the visuals that blends better when underlined by an indecipherable Japanese narrator. Our latest peek at the superhero epic might be our clearest showcase yet, utiziling footage from the previous trailers while debuting a bit more of its own. Notably, several scenes from the first clips associated with the film return, but this time souped up with the addition of some special effects providing added context. To paraphrase Luke Wilson in "Idiocracy," now you know whose ass is farting, and why.

One of the earliest shots in the film also showcases a major new Academy Award-winning castmember, with Gwyneth Paltrow getting her shining moment in a classic Disaster Movie Reaction Shot. She's likely reprising her role as Pepper Potts from the "Iron Man" movies, but this is the first clear-cut acknowledgement that she'll be featured in the movie, however briefly. It also gives us a long shot of that wormhole that opens up above Manhattan (specifically Iron Man's Stark Tower) and releases all sorts of bad guys. Tom Hiddleston's Loki sure wasn't lying about having an army.

In addition to the big action money shots, we have the first trailer appearance of Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill, as well as Thor dropping the classic blockbuster bon mot, "You don't know what you're dealing with." Joss Whedon, playin' the classics! "The Avengers" hits theaters May 4th. Oh yeah, here are the latest one sheets of the team standing around some more in their various stock photo shots.
