Update: Here’s the English language version of the trailer which is going under the title “Ages Of Love“
Well, that was fast. It was only late last summer that is was announced that Robert De Niro was (kind of randomly) joining “Manual Of Love 3,” the latest entry in the Italian omnibus series. Well, it looks like it’s already in the can and getting ready to make audiences swoon. Sort of.
The film was directed by Giovanni Veronesi, who helmed the very popular previous entries. The films are not unlike “Paris, Je T’Aime” or “New York, I Love You,” investigating love at various stages through shorts and vignettes. In the story, De Niro will play a divorced American professor living in Rome who falls in love with Monica Bellucci who, judging from the trailer, seems to have great difficulty keeping her top on. Yes, De Niro will be speaking some Italian in the film but don’t think he’s gone all soft as he also punches a guy. That’s love. And certainly, with De Niro’s presence, international distribution is probably likely.
