The latest Total Film Magazine is out this week and it has “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” on the cover. Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck are talking, so the Internet is all abuzz. We know that Affleck is co-writing a solo Batman movie and there’s talk that he could direct it as well. And Affleck, for the first time, has confirmed that he would love do direct, but for him, it’s a matter of time and whether or not he’d be the right filmmaker for the material that he and co-writer Geoff Johns generate.
"Look, if I could make it work, yeah, obviously it would be like a dream,” he told the magazine via CBM and this scanned graphic. “The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you— if you’re going to direct it— that you can make it good. You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it. Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.”

Producer Charles Roven took a noncommittal, we-shall-see approach when asked if Affleck could direct a solo “Batman” movie. "He’s got a busy schedule, he’s about to start a movie now [‘Live By Night‘]. And he’s also got obligations to be in the ‘Justice League’ movie. The calendar is a little bit tricky. Of course, the script obviously has to be worthy of him wanting to direct it, and once that happens, it’s still got to fit into the calendar. We’re hoping we can make it happen. We’re just at the beginning of the question.”
Meanwhile, Superman Henry Cavill revealed the opening of ‘Batman v Superman’ and we guess that’s been ok’d with Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder? Personally, I’m not a huge fan of spoilers like this, but if you want to know about the film’s prologue — apparently set 18 months after “Man Of Steel” — you can read about it here (via CBM).
Lastly, Batman-News has revealed some details about Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne’s relationship. And as you might guess, these two brilliant, mega-billionaires have a competitive and antagonistic relationship according to Luthor himself, Jesse Eisenberg. “[Luthor] is a lot of the things we know about the character. It’s a very modern take on his otherwise historic and iconic character. He has a recognisably modern psychology, whether it’s being used to charm or destroy,” Eisenberg said, adding, “It’s strange acting with people like Ben Affleck, having to condescend to someone like him. Off set, you’re thinking of this person is reverential terms, and then on set I condescending him, really quite nasty…"
“Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice” comes out March 25, 2016 and you’ll surely be close to sick of it by the time of release.
