We’re still a couple of months away from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” but Lionsgate is already moving forward with the two-part finale “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.” THR is reporting that “Game of Thrones” actor Natalie Dormer is joining the finale as “Cressida, a director who joins the rebellion.” MILD SPOILERSJennifer Lawrence’s Katniss consents to being part of the rebellion’s propaganda machine and Dormer’s character will aid in the crafting of the materials meant to inspire the people of Panem to rise up against the capitol. Dormer will appear in both parts of the film.

It might have taken a while but Olivia Munn is finally catching on as an actress. FirstShowing says “The Newsroom” actor will join Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor in David Koepp’s comedy crime film “Mortdecai,” an adaptation of Kyril Bonfiglioli’s final novel. The film follows an art dealer who accidentally gets mixed up in a plot involving Nazi gold, the Russians, MI5 and more. No word on who Munn would be playing. Maybe she should start working on that Russian accent.

Speaking of Aaron Sorkin’s “Newsroom,” Deadline reports that Munn’s co-star John Gallagher Jr.—who can also be currently seen in the fantastic “Short Term 12”—and rising indie actress Kate Lyn Sheil are starring in Zachary Wigon’s directorial debut, “The Heart Machine.” The duo play “Cody and Virginia, a couple in a long-distance online relationship who have never met in person. Cody begins to suspect Virginia’s been living in New York the whole time and sets out to investigate.” Filming is currently underway in NYC.

Though he’s now playing the blockbuster sandbox with “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” James Gunn has not forgotten about his friends. Character actor Gregg Henry (“Slither,” “Super”) is joining the comic-book film in—surprise, surprise—an undisclosed role. We suspect it won’t be a terribly substantial part, though. [Deadline]

In much smaller comic-book adaption news, “Submarine” star Craig Roberts and Jessica Barden (“Hanna”) will lead the live-action adaptation of cartoonist Charles S. Forsman’s “The End Of The Fucking World.” Described as “a dark teen comedy,” Jonathan Entwistle will helm the online series, which transplants the story from the United States “to a nihilistic, recession-laden UK.” Filming is set to start shortly.
