It's Just Bolognese: Paddy Considine Reunites With Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright For 'The World's End'

nullOf all the many pleasures of "Hot Fuzz," among the greatest were the two Andys — DS Andy Cartwright and DS Andy Wainwright, the mustached, macho cops who are the nemeses, and eventually allies, of Simon Pegg's Nicholas Angel. A crude, childish and thickly accented double act, they were brought to life by two scene-stealing performances by the then-unknown Rafe Spall (who's a fast-rising star these days, with roles in "Prometheus" and "Life Of Pi," and as his own lead in "I Give It A Year"), and the great Paddy Considine, an actor generally better known for more serious fare in films like "Dead Man's Shoes," "In America" and "The Bourne Ultimatum."

Sadly, we never got the "Andys" TV spin-off we always dreamed of (that thing could have run for a hundred years, had it gotten any further into the development process than us just making it up), but it looks like we're getting the next best thing, as Variety report that Considine has signed on to reunite with Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright on their follow-up to "Hot Fuzz," "The World's End."

The film, the third in the jokingly-referred-to "Three Colors Cornetto" trilogy after "Shaun Of The Dead" and 'Fuzz,' revolves around a pub crawl by a group of old friends on the edge of their forties, which takes on world-changing significance. The project has been casting up for a while for an October shoot, with Rosamund Pike joining the cast a few weeks back, in a part that Variety reveal is a former love interest of Pegg's character, Gary King.

Considine (last seen in Richard Ayoade's "Submarine," having spent some time making his scorching directorial debut "Tyrannosaur") is on board to play another of the friends, a lothario and musician in his youth, who's grown up to be a divorced architect. Details are still fairly thin on the project, but the news that Considine is reuniting with the gang has only made us more excited for a film that we were already champing at the bit to see. Hopefully more news of who'll make up the rest of the central quintet will be revealed soon — any actors that you'd like to see get involved? Returning trilogy veterans like Martin Freeman, Steve Coogan and Dylan Moran? Or newer blood like Pike? Let us know below.

"The World's End" doesn't yet have a U.S. release date, but it hits theaters in Britain on August 14th, 2013, so it should be somewhere in that vicinity.
