Watch: 4-Minute Compilation Of Wes Anderson's Slow-Motion Shots

The Royal Tenenbaums Gwyneth Paltrow

Next month at the Berlin Film Festival, Wes Anderson will be unveiling his latest effort “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” And as we’ve seen from the trailer and footage already, it will find the filmmaker once again presenting audiences with a wholly unique world, a rich ensemble of characters with no shortage of style with different aspect ratios and much more (be sure to read our detailed trailer deconstruction for the film). And one other thing you can probably bank on? Slow motion.

Among the many favored techniques of Wes Anderson, the slow-motion shot is right up there, and to hold you over until “The Grand Budapest Hotel” arrives, today we have an excellent little four-minute compilation of the slow-motion shots in the director’s films to date. It’s a nice look back at some the best moments of his movies, and another reminder of how excellent his shot composition can be. Give it a spin below. [Cinephilia & Beyond]
