Watch: 5 Minute Red Band Clip From '21 Jump Street' Will Show You All The Hilarious Parts So You Don't Have To See It

nullWhen did movie marketing turn into 'What The Hell We'll Just Show You As Much Of The Movie As Possible Before It Opens'? It's a strange trend that has seen teasers and trailers turn into multiple clips to the first 8, 10 or 12 minutes being shown online. And while that's a tactic best served for indie movies like "Sound Of My Voice" which recently showed it's first chapter online to start buzz, it's bizarre when Disney serves up a big chunk of their $250 million space opus "John Carter" on the internet (though we suppose they are pretty desperate at this point).

Anyway, with that in mind, Sony has given MTV a 5-minute, f-bomb filled red band supercut of a bunch of stuff from "21 Jump Street," a movie that is already generating tremendously great buzz. Isn't there another way to market this without dumping a highlight reel online before the movie comes out? Advance reviews have been glowing, we called it an "instant classic," and there has already been a plethora of clips and other material online already. This just seems like total overkill.

But hey, if you want to have the laughs spoiled in advance, just click below. But if you don't, just go see this on opening weekend with a big crowd and have a blast. "21 Jump Street" hits on March 16th.
