Watch: Gerard Butler Battles For Britain In New Trailer For 'London Has Fallen'

London Has FallenTwo years ago, there was a multiplex showdown between two very similar vehicles: Gerard Butler‘s "Olympus Has Fallen," and Channing Tatum‘s "White House Down." Both movies centered on terrorist attacks on the White House Down, and the gritty, heroic agent who saved the day, but only one had enough juice to justify a sequel. Even though ‘Olympus’ only made $161 million worldwide versus ‘Down’ which hauled in $205 million,  it was made for considerably less — $70 million versus $150 million. And so, it’s Butler who’s going on to save the day — again.

This time around, Mike Banning is going to jump into action when London gets blown up real good, and a plot to assassinate world leaders is uncovered. This may not be the smartest movie to ever be made, but you have to admit, that’ a pretty chewy B-movie premise. Here’s the official synopsis:

London Has Fallen begins after the British Prime Minister passes away. His funeral then becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head, and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one.

Co-starring Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Robert Forster, Jackie Earle Haley, Charlotte Riley, Sean O’Bryan, Alon Aboutboul and Waleed Zuaiter, "London Has Fallen" will open on March 4, 2016. Watch below.
