No One Is From The Future: New Trailer For Zal Batmanglij’s ‘Sound Of My Voice’ Starring Brit Marling

nullIf last year we saw the paranoia and fear of someone leaving a cult in "Martha Marcy May Marlene," in 2012 we'll see those feelings explored from people entering that strange world in "Sound Of My Voice." The film, one of two starring Brit Marling that wowed Sundance audiences in January 2011 (the other being "Another Earth" which hit theaters last summer), is on the way to theaters and after showing off the first twelve minutes a few weeks ago, a standard trailer has arrived, adding another layer of intrigue to the picture.

Written by director Zal Batmanglij and Marling, 'Sound' follows Peter, a journalist, who along with his girlfriend Lorna, attempts to infiltrate a cult, and investigate its mysterious and magnetic leader Maggie. But as they fall in, it seems the layer of doubt and even condescension towards the leader who Peter calls a "fraud" begins to evaporate. Peter in particular appears to be drawn in the orbital pull that Maggie exudes, and where it goes from there…we'll have to see…

For those who haven't see the film, the director told us he encourages you to see it sooner rather than later, before some of the plot twists become common conversion. So yeah, see it fresh. "Sound Of My Voice" will arrive on April 27th. Watch below or in HD at Apple
