‘Lisa Frankenstein’ Trailer: Kathryn Newton & Cole Sprouse Come Of Rage In Diablo Cody’s New Genre Comedy

Can love last between a girl and a corpse? The new film “Lisa Frankenstein” presents a black comedy with a heart for horror. Producer and screenwriter Diablo Cody once again brings the genres together; her 2009 film “Jennifer’s Body,” directed by Karyn Kusama, has achieved cult status as fans rediscover it. Cody’s ‘Frankenstein’ script finds another talented multi-hyphenate helming the project. Zelda Williams follows up her 2020 horror comedy “Kappa Kappa Die” with this new title; prior work directing major music videos helped the filmmaker and actress build up an impressive vision.

Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse star as the high school couple. Newton recently appeared in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” as Cassie Lang; she’s also no stranger to horror comedies, having starred in “Freaky.” Sprouse is known for his role in the pop culture phenomenon “Riverdale” — which came to a close in 2023. The actor can also be seen in the upcoming projects “Undercover” and “I Wish You All the Best.” ‘Frankenstein’ additionally stars  Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino. Gugino is an incredibly intriguing choice, proving to be a major highlight in “The Fall of the House of Usher.”
