Was Derry ever safe from the villainous Pennywise? “IT: Welcome to Derry” shows viewers another time in the beleaguered town’s history, a narrative that goes beyond Stephen King’s classic novel. The anticipated prequel series also takes place before the events of the most recent cinematic adaptation. This time, a new cast of characters unravels various mysteries with a sinister twist.
The project was developed for television by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs. Fuchs wrote the teleplay for the first episode and serves as co-showrunner with another executive producer, Brad Caleb Kane.
