What does it take to catch a killer? Dr. Kay Scarpetta is an expert on the subject. Now, a past case is colliding with a heinous murder on “Scarpetta.” The Prime Video series brings author Patricia Cornwell’s famous medical examiner to life. Nicole Kidman stars as the respected character. Jamie Lee Curtis portrays Scarpetta’s sister Dorothy Farinelli. The talented cast also includes Bobby Cannavale as Detective Pete Marino, Simon Baker as Benton Wesley, and Ariana DeBose as Lucy Watson.

The project comes from writer and showrunner Liz Sarnoff, known for her work on “Barry” and “Lost,” and sees David Gordon Green direct five episodes and serve as executive producer. His filmography features the critically acclaimed “George Washington,” popular comedy series “The Righteous Gemstones,” and the most recent contributions to the “Halloween” franchise. The latter saw “Scarpetta” co-star Curtis reprise her role of famed final girl Laurie Strode.
