How did a legendary artist move on from music’s most iconic band? “Man On The Run” chronicles Paul McCartney’s journey to become a successful solo artist. The upcoming documentary showcases the ups and downs McCartney faced as he plotted his next moves after The Beatles. He would go on to form the successful band Wings with his wife, Linda McCartney. ‘Run’ offers an in-depth and personal look at the period, featuring previously unreleased footage and rare archival materials. Much of that access comes from the musician’s involvement in the project. McCartney serves as executive producer alongside Caitrin Rogers.
Academy Award winner Morgan Neville, known for the Oscar-winning doc, “20 Feet from Stardom” (2014), directs “Man On The Run.” The filmmaker’s recent projects include 2024’s “Piece by Piece.” Its unique use of Lego for Pharrell Williams’ biography drew attention from fans and critics alike. He additionally helmed 2024’s “Steve! (Martin): A Documentary in 2 Pieces.” The two-part documentary received several Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.
