How do different perspectives shape a story? “For All Mankind” explores an alternate timeline in which the Soviet Union becomes the space-age frontrunner. “Star City” builds on that narrative. The upcoming spinoff series follows various Soviet figures who contributed to the success of astronautics. Their personal lives collide with professional responsibilities, sometimes leading to devastating emotional consequences. ‘City’ hails from “For All Mankind” creators Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore. Nedivi and Wolpert also serve as showrunners.

The series’ official synopsis:
“Expanding the world of ‘For All Mankind,’ “Star City” is a propulsive paranoid thriller that takes us back to the key moment in the alt-history retelling of the space race – when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humankind forward.”
