The film stars Emilia Jones, best known for her breakout performance in the Oscar-winning “CODA,” and Nick Robinson of “Love, Simon” and “Voicemails for Isabelle.” Directed by Tom Dean and Mac Eldridge, from a script by Dean, the romantic drama follows the evolving relationship between Harper and Charlie as love, ambition, identity, and personal growth begin pulling them in different directions.

The film made its World Premiere at TIFF last year, where The Playlist reviewed it and called Jones the clear standout, writing that she “finds gravitas and insight in an otherwise familiar story.” The review also noted the film’s time-hopping structure, with the relationship drama unfolding across different stages of Charlie and Harper’s lives.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Charlie Harper” is an emotional modern romance that explores the tension between love, ambition, identity, and personal growth. Through the evolving relationship between Charlie and Harper, the film examines what happens when two people deeply connected to one another begin to grow in different directions, forcing them to confront whether love alone is enough.
