‘The Audacity’ Teaser: Billy Magnussen’s Silicon Valley CEO Goes “Unhinged” In Jonathan Glatzer’s New AMC Drama

The “Succession” writer-producer’s first series creation stars Sarah Goldberg and Zach Galifianakis and premieres April 12 on AMC and AMC+.

“Genius is about being unhinged enough to do something outrageous.” AMC and AMC+’s new teaser for “The Audacity” leans right into that narcissistic rot, treating Silicon Valley as a bubble where ambition excuses everything—jaded billionaires, bio-hacked bros, AI labs, and private-school “optimization” all orbiting a data-mining CEO who treats human insight like another resource to strip-mine.

That amusing genius line comes from Duncan Park, the audacious CEO played by Billy Magnussen (“No Time to Die,” “Aladdin”), fronting an eight-episode darkly comedic drama from Jonathan Glatzer (“Succession,” “Bad Sisters,” “Better Call Saul”) in what AMC calls his first-ever series creation. The teaser’s timing is part of the rollout, too: AMC says it will debut on-air during the Season 4 premiere of “Dark Winds” on Sunday at 9pm ET/PT, a neat bit of counterprogramming—noir dread on one channel, tech-world dread in the commercial breaks.

Magnussen is joined by Sarah Goldberg (“Barry”) as Dr. JoAnne Felder and Zach Galifianakis (“The Hangover”) as Carl Bardolph, with the ensemble also including Lucy Punch (“A Series of Unfortunate Events”), Simon Helberg (“The Big Bang Theory”), Rob Corddry (“Hot Tub Time Machine”), Meaghan Rath (“Being Human”), and Paul Adelstein (“Prison Break”), plus Randall Park (“Fresh Off the Boat”) guest starring as Gabe, the CFO who apparently left his qualms in a different zip code.

AMC’s official description frames the series as a look at “warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses” among self-styled inventors of the future, with Duncan striving to turn “insight and influence into profit and power.”

Lucy Forbes (“This Is Going To Hurt,” “Eric”) directs the pilot and episode two, with Dan Sackheim directing episodes three and four, Dan Longino directing episodes five and six, and Alex Buono directing episodes seven and eight. AMC Studios produces, and AMC Networks holds worldwide rights.
