Winning the job is one thing, but keeping it is obviously something entirely different. The new season picks up with the franchise stabilizing after last year’s scandal, but the pressure only tightens. Isla is trying to prove she belongs in the role on her own terms, while her brother Cam, played by Justin Theroux, quietly works angles behind the scenes to take back control. That tension—family politics colliding with professional stakes—continues to be the show’s engine, with every decision becoming leverage in a much larger power struggle.
Created by Mindy Kaling, alongside Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen, the series leans further into that mix of workplace comedy and dynasty drama, with season two promising higher stakes inside the organization and a more complicated personal life for Isla as she tries to balance both.
The returning ensemble includes Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, and Uche Agada, with a long bench of guest players this season, including Octavia Spencer, Barinholtz, Lisa Rinna, Nicole Richie, and Scott Speedman.
Produced by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television, “Running Point” continues Netflix’s push into glossy, character-driven comedy with built-in franchise stakes.
Season two premieres April 23 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
