The household is getting a little more crowded. Brittany Snow, currently starring in Netflix’s pulpy thriller series “The Hunting Wives,” has joined Lionsgate’s “The Housemaid’s Secret,” the sequel to last year’s surprise box-office smash “The Housemaid.” Snow will play a character named Marybeth, though the studio is keeping further details about her role under wraps.
Snow joins returning star Sydney Sweeney, who reprises her role as Millie, along with franchise newcomers Kirsten Dunst and Paul Anthony Kelly, the breakout star of FX’s “Love Story.” Michele Morrone will also return as Enzo, carrying over his role from the first movie.
Paul Feig is back to direct the sequel and will produce through Pretty Dangerous Pictures alongside Laura Fischer. Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman and Sweeney, through her Honey Trap banner, are also producing. The film is based on the second book in Freida McFadden’s bestselling thriller series.
“The Housemaid’s Secret” finds Millie accepting another housekeeping job, this time working for a woman she is never permitted to see. Naturally, the locked door separating them hides something considerably more dangerous, threatening to uncover secrets Millie would prefer to leave buried.
Lionsgate moved quickly on the sequel after “The Housemaid” became one of the studio’s biggest recent success stories. The first film, starring Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar, earned more than $400 million worldwide after opening in December 2025.
Snow’s casting comes during a particularly busy stretch for the actress. In addition to leading “The Hunting Wives,” which is headed into its second season, she recently appeared opposite Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys in Netflix’s “The Beast in Me.” Her film credits include the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, “John Tucker Must Die,” “Hairspray,” and Ti West’s “X.”
“The Housemaid’s Secret” will open in wide release on December 17, 2027.
