The “Big Bang Theory” universe is going full multiverse. HBO Max has released the trailer and key art for “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe,” a new Max Original comedy series centered on Kevin Sussman’s Stuart Bloom, the comic book store owner from “The Big Bang Theory.”
The ten-episode season finds Stuart tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally triggering what the logline describes as a “multiverse Armageddon.” Naturally, he is not exactly the obvious man for the job. Stuart is joined on the quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke, with the series also featuring alternate-universe versions of familiar characters from “The Big Bang Theory.” As the title suggests, things do not go smoothly.
The series stars Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert, and John Ross Bowie as Kripke, alongside Sussman.
“Stuart Fails To Save The Universe” comes from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady created the series, wrote it, and serves as executive producers. Kyle Newacheck also executive produces and directs multiple episodes.
“Stuart Fails To Save The Universe” debuts Thursday, July 23 at 9 pm 9 pmHBO Max, with new episodes arriving on subsequent Thursdays. Watch the trailer below.
