You gotta feel really bad for the Berlin Film Festival. Every year they announce some major world premiere, this year its James Mangold’s Wolverine movie “Logan,” starring Hugh Jackman, and every year the films studios let pretty much all the major North American press see the movie before it “premieres.” So, “Logan” is “premiering” in Berlin, but trust us when we say, you’ll see reviews from the American press first. Two years ago it was “Fifty Shades Of Gray,” which got scooped by U.S. critics too and the same went down with “Grand Budapest Hotel” and “Hail Caesar.” This is also pretty common with other European festivals. A few years back the Rome Film Festival of all places were lucky enough to score the “world premiere” of the last ‘Twilight’ film and American press outlets beat the debut by a few days with their reviews.

Anyhow, pour one out for the Berlinale. Here’s the official “Logan” synopsis (apparently less detailed than the one the Berlin film festival were asked to take down):
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
Will it be Hugh Jackman’s last turn as the character as he’s sworn up and down or will “Deadpool” force him to change his mind? Who knows. Meanwhile, “Logan” opens on March 3 in the U.S. Watch the new Super Bowl TV spot right here and check out some new photos too.
