Will Netflix ever let the Upside Down rest? Will it ever stop milking “Stranger Things” for every lost drop of nosebleed blood? Not today. The streamer marked Stranger Things Day with the first look at “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85,” a new animated series set in the winter of 1985 that reimagines Hawkins with a fresh cast of voices and an all-new supernatural threat. The series premieres in 2026.

Created and showrun by Eric Robles, “Tales From ’85” follows familiar characters as they confront a fresh wave of paranormal chaos sweeping through their small Indiana town. The voice cast includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper, alongside Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The series is executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer and Hilary Leavitt through Upside Down Pictures. It is also produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen for 21 Laps Entertainment, with animation provided by Flying Bark Productions.
“Tales From ’85” arrives as the franchise gears up for its fifth and final live-action season, ensuring that even as one door in the Upside Down closes, Netflix opens another — this time, in cartoon form because even the Upside Down can’t stay dead when there’s still nostalgia left to monetize.
