In many circles, Kanye West is known as a musical genius, that’s probably undisputable, he’s recorded some classic hip hop bangers. I’d argue, West is also a man who has shown himself to be an incredibly arrogant jackass (see him trying to steal Taylor Swift‘s MTV Awards moment way back when), backed Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, ran for President, and wasted millions of dollars in the process, has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and maybe right now is not the best time to tell his story. But apparently, that’s not much of Netflix’s concern and they’re moving ahead with a documentary called, “Jeen-Yuhs,” from filmmakers Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah.
Today, during their TUDUM event, Netflix released a sneak peek of a scene from the doc featuring rapper Mos Def and Kanye West. It’s unclear how much the doc spans, but it looks like mostly the early days when West was known as a music producer first, rapper second, but he had wild ambition and was hustling to prove to everyone that he was in fact, a genius.
