'Twilight Zone' Trailer: Surprise! Jordan Peele Is The New Rod Serling In Hijacking Super Bowl Spot

“When truth is not the truth, what dimension are you even in?” and just like that the first unexpected trailer for Jordan Peele’s CBS All-Access revival of “The Twilight Zone” is here. And could this be CBS’ streaming channel’s answer to “Black Mirror” which was arguably informed by the original show in the first place.

Perhaps we should have been expected this surprise. Earlier this week, CBS announced the premiere date for the new “The Twilight Zone,” exclusive for CBS All-Access subscribers. Dated for April 1, but not an April Fool’s joke presumably, CBS announced that two episodes would be available for subscribers on Monday, April 1, with new ones releasing on a weekly basis starting Thursday, April 11.

Of course, this new iteration of “The Twilight Zone” comes from Jordan Peele and his new Monkeypaw production company which has become entirely hot ever since the smash success of “Get Out.” Peele, who has the new social horror movie “Us” coming out in March and premiering at the SXSW Film Festival, certainly has an affinity for horror and the genres of weird and outre, so it’s fitting he would find interest in reviving the cult classic TV show.

Acting as the new Rod Serling, the narrator of the original eerie anthology series— that would present new strange stories each week in the realm of the supernatural, or horror, sci-fi, the macabre, mystical the freakishly weird and or all of the above—this new “Twilight Zone” teaser trailer show Peele disrupting the Super Bowl telecast to deliver his creepy pronouncement of the new upcoming show.

An anthology of one-off episodes, just like the original or “Black Mirror” if you’re more familiar with that format, “The Twilight Zone” will feature a litany of stars such as Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Lucinda Dryzek, Taissa Farmiga, Greg Kinnear, Luke Kirby, Sanaa Lathan, Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, Rhea Seehorn, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Jefferson White, Jonathan Whitesell, Jessica Williams, DeWanda Wise and Steven Yeun.

A reimagined version of the original The Twilight Zone’s “The Wunderkind” episode is already confirmed for this new series, but details have not yet been released for other chapters.

The original “Twilight Zone” ran from 1959 to 1964 and was a huge cult favorite of filmmakers Edgar Wright, J.J. Abrams and obviously, Peele. Watch the new teaser below.
