Penlope Cruz Makes "A Call FromThe Vatican" In New 'Nine' Clip; Plus 2 New Songs

Okay, it isn’t much – only about twenty seconds worth of footage – but it’s the longest video of a solo performance we’ve seen yet from the forthcoming musical “Nine” and it looks great. In the clip, Penelope Cruz sings and struts though what looks to be the last moments of “A Call From The Vatican.” We’re not sure where this clip, grabbed from an NBC broadcast, is originally from but it’s strong proof that “Nine” is aiming to be an old fashioned, rousing, crowd pleasing musical of yore.

As we previously reported, The Weinstein Company and Disney have teamed up to promote the hell out of the film, with roadblocked trailers, web portals and synergized content that, by end of November, will put “Nine” on the tips of filmgoers’ lips. “Nine” screenings took place this weekend in New York, but we weren’t invited cause we’re not junkateers/TWC’s ace in the hole this year (though guys, do not give up hope on “A Single Man”). You haven’t seen reports yet because writers are apparently sworn to secrecy (and some may have even signed non-disclosure forms if we’re hearing this correctly). Seems a little odd, but then again, with a full month of a coordinated advertising blitzkrieg, everyone will be talking about this film anyway, which should help its box office numbers come December 25th.

Hold the phone, two other songs have leaked:
Marion Cotillard – “Take It All”

Kate Hudson – “Cinema Italiano”
