Gregory Ellwood’s Awards Campaign Blog Is Coming To The Playlist

It’s official. After months of consulting for the new Playlist site behind the scenes, awards pundit Gregory Ellwood is joining the team and is bringing his Awards Campaign blog with him (you can read his announcement piece here). Greg’s been instrumental in our transition into a new independent site, so bringing him on board as our official awards blogger was a no brainer.

Greg co-founded HitFix, has contributed to the major trades (Variety, THR , etc.) and he’s been reading the Oscar tea leaves for as long as the Internet has been around. He’s a terrific addition to the team and you’ll see his work starting at the Telluride Film Festival in late August (and if you were eagle-eyed, you’d have noticed a few pieces from Cannes and Karlovy Vary early this year).

From there, Greg will be at the Toronto International Film Festival and taking the weekly temperature of the awards season race through all its ups and downs, twists, turns and surprises.

We’re incredibly excited to have Awards Campaign make a home here at The Playlist and we’re stoked for you to see what Greg can bring to the table. So check in on Labor Day weekend to see the first reviews that come out of Telluride (but of course you’re reading every day, so you’d probably do that anyhow, right? 🙂

Onwards and upwards, The Playlist evolution continues.
