HBO’s ‘Eastbound & Down’ Officially Coming Back For Second Season

The HBO comedy “Eastbound & Down” created by “Observe & Report” buddies, Ben Best, Jody Hill and Danny McBride (who stars) is coming back for a second season according to EW.

The show which has been directed by Hill and McBride pal David Gordon Green (“Pineapple Express,” “All The Real Girls”), has just been picked up by HBO for season two which will air sometime in 2010. The show centers on a burned-out major league ballplayer (McBride) who returns to teach physical education at his old middle school.

EW calls the show, “hilarious, unrepentantly crude, and life-lesson-phobic.” Some of The Playlist members (me), haven’t seen it, but those who have, swear by it. We’ll have to wait for DVD, but fans of this show are vocal and rabid. When we did one post on this HBO show a few weeks ago, the comments section lit up like never before. Clearly it’s struck a nerve.
