New 'Mandalorian' Season 2 Trailer: The Galaxy's Toughest Babysitting Bounty Hunter Seeks Out Jedi

About a year or so ago, Bob Iger said, the future of “Star Wars” lay in television, at least new film franchises were up and running. Yesterday, in a restructuring of media and entertainment division announcement (read: more layoffs), Disney announced its “primary focus” for entertainment is streaming. Today, Disney+ shared the brand-new trailer from the highly anticipated second season. What happens in season two? Well, the official synopsis — The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire — is pretty vague. But we know from the first trailer the skeleton of the series at least. Mando goes to his tribe of Mandalorians and asks what he should do about Baby Yoda. Their decree, reunite him with his people, but to do that, he has to find a secret sect of sorcerers who used to battle Mandalorians — aka Jedi.

The implication is, despite the Jedi purge and the existence of Luke Skywalker — ‘Mandalorian’ is set after the events of ‘Return Of The Jedi‘ — other remaining Jedi exist in the galaxy. This could be the perfect segue to Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi said to be appearing in Season two as played by Rosario Dawson. Or, who knows, maybe its the mysterious character played by Sasha Banks in the first ‘Mando’ trailer. Time will tell as this new trailer only sheds so much light, but season one’s finale did tease the dark saber and more from Imperial Security Bureau chief Moff Gideon.
