Rob Zombie's Animated Comedy Nearly Complete; No Mr. Untouchables Soundtrack; More

Horror schlockster Rob Zombie’s new animated comedy “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto” is apparently “almost 100% done”though it still needs edited and sountracked, but it is due for a 2008 release. [ed. We call bullshit. Not edited yet? That’s thing is like 75% complete at best]. The film features the voices of Paul Giamatti, Geoffrey Lewis and Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon.

Zombie’s been linked with a “C.H.U.D.” remake for 2009, but would not comfirm if it’s his next project or not. Some live DVD that we don’t really care about it also coming out.

If you don’t already know, media mogul Damon Dash’s Enterprises collaborated with Magnolia Pictures to put out “Mr. Untouchable” the documentary about Nicky Barnes, the main rival of Frank Lucas – the featured drug lord character of “American Gangster” as played by Denzel Washington. Hi-Tek of Tek And Talib Kweli scored the doc, but according to Dash there will be no disc. “There is no soundtrack for this,” Dash told movieweb late last month. I’m just giving out mix-tapes. I’m using the mix-tape as a platform to promote the movie. Because the music was such a serious part of that time period. It looks like a soundtrack, though.” With tracks by James Brown, Issac Hayes, Boosty Collins and Curtis Mayfield, it sure does.
