Fun fact: did you know that lovely Liane Balaban, who played Dustin Hoffman’s daughter in “Last Chance Harvey,” has a side career in what the music press refers to as Montreal-based synth-punk band We Are Molecules? True story – and judging by their MySpace page they are heavy into the great outdoors and new wave era sound effects.
We were a bit taken with Balaban, so when we realized her main U.S. film credit prior to this was the terrible romcom “Definitely, Maybe” we made a frown. However, we see she’s got no less than five films in post-production – one of which, “The Trotsky,” co-stars sometime Apatow crew member Jay Baruchel and looks fairly interesting (the best we can ascertain is that it involves communism and high school – perhaps a Canadian “Rushmore”?).
