Got a Tip?

‘Captain Marvel’ Actress Mckenna Grace To Star In Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters’

She won’t be afraid of no ghosts. Mckenna Grace, who played young Carol Danvers in “Captain Marvel” and the young Sabrina Spellman on Netflix Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” has bagged one of the lead roles in Jason Reitman’s upcoming “Ghostbusters” sequel. The currently-untitled movie is a continuation that picks up where “Ghostbusters II” left off in the 1980s and discounts the events of Paul Feig’s 2016 all-female “Ghostbusters” film (his film took place in an alternate universe).

Grace completes the puzzle of one of the family’s in the movie. Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard and “The Leftovers” character actress Carrie Coon are already cast, and Reitman revealed via Twitter they are part of one family unit in the film. Character break downs have suggested three more co-leads and three more families. The screenplay, by Reitman and Gil Kenan (the “Poltergeist” remake), centers on four teens, one set older, one set younger, with a focus on one family in particular. It’s unknown if McKenna’s unit will be the lead, but THR, who breaks the news, seems to suggest she might. So, “Ghostbusters” is going to be lead much a younger cast and the rumors of the film seemingly taken inspiration from “Stranger Things” seems legit.
