From HitsDailyDouble:
“Negotiations are underway to bring in Brett Ratner as director of the proposed Milli Vanilli movie for Universal. The move would reunite Ratner and his “Rush Hour” cohort, writer Jeff Nathanson, who penned the screenplay for the film, which is being produced by frequent Steven Spielberg collaborator Kathleen Kennedy with executive producer and [surviving Vanilli founder] Fab Morvan manager Kim Marlowe. Universal first announced its intentions to make a Milli Vanilli film in February 2007, when they revealed in the trades that Nathanson — who wrote “Catch Me If You Can,” a similar fakers story — had been hired to pen the script. The Milli Vanilla story ended in tragedy in 1998 when co-founder Rob Pilatus died of an accidental drug overdose as the group was on track to mount a comeback. [via TheDailySwarm]
