Geek Beat: 'Daredevil,' 'Iron Man 2,' 'Spider-Man 4' And More Nerd Super Hero/Sci-Fi Film News

There might be a “Daredevil” reboot in the work from Fox but don’t expect Ben Affleck to go near even an inch of a mile near it or any other super hero movie for that matter. “No, I would not do another [superhero film],” he said adamantly. “I was cured of that. That experience was not that much fun,” he said frankly. “And it’s not something I’m particularly looking to go through again.” [MTV]

Jon Favreau says (via his Twitter of course), “Iron Man 2” will begin shooting next Monday.

Despite saying recently he had a “long way to go,” and was still working his way around the 3D technology, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” has been scheduled for an IMAX 3D release of March 5, 2010 by Disney. [IESB]

“Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2” are coming back in theaters in 3D in the fall for a brief run. [FirstShowing]

Though he was a bit more coy with reporters at SXSW, Sam Raimi says the script to “Spider-Man 4” should be ready by the summer. [MovieWeb]

Mono-monikered fratboy director McG has already talked about the possibility of a “Terminator 5” with “T2” super villain Robert Patrick (dunno about you, but he just seems creepy) in tow. And Patrick confirms they’ve been discussing the idea. “Yeah, he talked to me about it, I’m interested,” he said, but vaguely cautioned that he’s not cashing checks or going out to buy a new house in advance. “We’ll see what happens. The sci-fi genre, and specifically that character, is something I’m very proud of. It’s what broke me out big to the world. And it’s a character that I’ve lived with ever since, and I kind of carry it with me everywhere I go, for good or bad. So it’s obviously something that’s very dear to me and real special to me. That was a real special time. That franchise means a lot to me.” [Fearnet]
