Jack Black To Star In 'Bourne Identity' Spoof

Another day, another brilliant idea. This time Hollywood has churned out a good one. A spoof of the popular ‘Bourne Identity’ series (as if it hasn’t been ripped off enough already), but this time with a comedic twist!

“Kung Fu Panda” writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger have teamed up with over-caffeinated comedian Jack Black for a live-action comedy at Universal Studios.

According to the the Hollywood Reporter, Black’s character is “an American who finds himself washed up the shores of Cuba with no idea of who he is and how he got there (gee, sounds familiar). He comes to the conclusion that he must be a superspy, though in reality he is far from one.”

Michael Sheen, always fond of playing Tony Blair (“The Deal” and “The Queen” ), will appear in Tim Burton’s 3D “Alice in Wonderland.” His role so far is unknown. Sheen is next seen in “Frost/Nixon.”Oh yeah, he’s also acting alongside Samuel L. Jackson in something or other. [Variety]

George Lucas has picked director Anthony Hemingway to helm his long-gestating, “Red Tails,” a WWII epic about fighter pilots and specifically African-American ones that served as pilot escorts for American bombers in the war. Lucas originally wanted to direct it, but it would only serve to take time away from systematically destroying the “Star Wars” mythos and legend; a act he remains fully committed to. [Reuters]
