Apparently there’s this new international poster for Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” which is pretty meh, because it’s just a stand-in for images we’ve all already seen and it reveals none of the actors in the film, so it’s really a lot of nothing, frankly.
However, something we might have missed and which doesn’t seem too widely reported is the fact that the film has a September 24 release date? We weren’t even sure it had distribution yet, but according to a late 2008 report in this Florida paper, the 24 is the (presumably) U.S. date.
The film, which is rumored to appear at Cannes, stars Heath Ledger in his final screen appearance, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrell (all of whom stepped in to fill his role after he died midway through filming) and Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits and Verne Troyer. We’d regurgitate the fantastical details about a washed-up talisman/magician who makes a deal withe the Devil, but we did a pretty comprehensive script review already and you can just read that (our script reviews are generally free of any major spoilers).
