Though Lars Von Trier’s psychological horror “Antichrist” doesn’t screen at Cannes until this weekend, some footage of the film was already screened in Berlin (Berlin film fest?) says Anne Thompson.
Reactions to the footage? One person called it “a psychological thriller with a supernatural edge” (from the looks and sounds of it, natch), another said it was “bonkers,” and another used the term “artsy.”
Umm, dunno about you, but an artsy, bonkers supernatural thriller by Lars Von Trier sounds fucking incredible to us. Evidently Eva Green (“The Dreamers,” Bond girl in “Casino Royale”) was originally offered the role that went to Charlotte Gainsbourg, but turned it down because she was not willing to “take on the racy material.” Color us friggin’ stoked.
