'Easy' Season 3 Trailer: Joe Swanberg Takes His Eclectic Cast Through One Last Season Of Navigating Love & Life In Chicago

It might be coming to an end, but indie filmmaker Joe Swanberg‘s had a good run with his Netflix show “Easy.” It didn’t even appear to have a ton of viewers, but by Swanberg’s admission, it’s the most fun he’s ever had in filmmaking. Because Netflix gave him the most amount of sustainable dough he’s ever had, complete creative freedom and a nice comfortable budget so he could do all the things he wanted to do and cast all the actors he liked. And that was a very deep bench of solid actors too.

To back up a bit in case you’re not in the known, “Easy” is the eclectic, star-studded anthology series Swanberg created that explored diverse Chicago characters as they fumbled through the modern maze of love, sex, technology and culture (Swanberg is from Chicago, hence the setting).

Eight-episode a season and, written and directed by Swanberg, season one featured actors like Orlando Bloom, Malin Akerman, Jake Johnson, Marc Maron, Dave Franco, Hannibal Buress, Emily Ratajkowski, and more.

Some actors have returned over multiple seasons, and some have left, but there’s a good group there— Elizabeth Reaser, Michael Chernus, Jake Johnson, Marc Maron, Jane Adams—who remained through all three seasons.

Season three also features Zazie Beetz, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Melanie Lynskey, Kate Micucci, John Gallagher, Jr., Megan Ferguson, Sophia Bush, Kiersey Clemons, Jaz Sinclair, Jacqueline Toboni, Aya Cash, Dave Franco, Evan Jonigkeit, Danielle MacDonald, Kali Skrap, Lindsay Burdge, Cliff Chamberlain, and Nicky Excitement.

“Easy” returns for a third and final season on May 10, only on Netflix. It will be interesting to see what the prolific Swanberg, who used to churn out a movie year after year back to back no problem, will do next. Watch the trailer for “Easy” season three, below.
