International Trailer: For '500 Days Of Summer' Features, The Cure, Aztec Camera, Temper Trap & Hall & Oates

It’s not totally new or revelatory, but perhaps in a way to keep the buzz for “500 Days of Summer” going, Fox Searchlight has made everyone aware of the new international trailer for the film. Here’s the synopsis.

Hopeless romantic Tom falls for Summer, a woman who doesn’t believe in true love. When Summer dumps him unexpectedly, Tom starts agonising about where things went wrong. Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in this romantic comedy

The trailer features “You Make My Dreams” by Hall & Oates which is utilized in a dance sequence in the film, The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry,” Aztec Camera’s “Somewhere In My Heart,” and The Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” which we really liked within the movie when we saw it in Boston back in April. The soundtrack — which features tracks by Feist, Regina Spektor, Black Lips and The Doves — is due July 14, and contains a new track that is not included in the film and never been released or heard before— a cover of The Smiths’ “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want,” by She & Him — Zooey Deschanel’s band with indie folk rocker M. Ward (note the Aztec Camera song — which is great, btw — and The Cure, seem to be the only ones not featured in the film, but the list could have changed, we don’t totally remember).

Earlier this year, director Marc Webb was cool enough to provide us with a track by track commentary of every song used in the film, including track not featured on the soundtrack disc like, the Pixies, Belle and Sebastian, Spoon and many more.

“500 Days of Summer” hits theaters July 17 in limited release via Fox Searchlight.
