The U.K. Daily Telegraph is obviously off its rocker reporting on an “inside tip” that Christopher Nolan wants actress/”musician” Cher to play the Catwoman in the third Nolan-helmed Batman film.
Film School Rejects picked up the phone (they have Cher’s people in their Rolodex? Them?) and apparently talked to Cher’s manager Risa Shapiro. And as you’d probably imagine the whole thing was news to her, but hey, she’d (naturally) love it to happen!
“I would LOVE nothing more than for Cher to play Catwoman. She’d be great. She’s one of the most extraordinary women anyone could ever meet. But I haven’t received any phone call about this, and hadn’t even heard about it . I think I’ll call Chris Nolan and find out what’s going on.”
And Chris Nolan probably won’t return your call cause he’ll feel embarrassed for you and your client. One Brit that won’t feel embarrassed in the writer of this story. The U.K. press is shameless (gullible too?) and you’d think they’d feel embarrassed about this flub (especially normally good people like the Telegraph), but no, they’re off to the pub already, piss off you wanka!
