‘Lucky’ Trailer: Apple TV Sets July Premiere For Anya Taylor-Joy’s Heist-Fueled Limited Series

A clean getaway is supposed to buy you time—space to disappear, regroup, rewrite the story. But the new limited series “Lucky” is built on the opposite premise: the moment the plan collapses, everyone starts running, and the real chase begins.

At Apple TV+’s 2026 Press Day, the streamer unveiled a first look and teaser trailer for the seven-episode drama, setting its global debut for Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The rollout begins with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly installments every Wednesday through August 19, framing the series as a mid-summer, week-to-week pressure cooker rather than a dump-and-done binge.

Headlining the adaptation is Anya Taylor-Joy, who also executive produces. The ensemble is loaded, with Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner also starring.

The series comes from Hello Sunshine and is created by Jonathan Tropper, the genre-savvy writer behind Cinemax’s “Banshee” and “Warrior” and Apple TV+’s “Your Friends & Neighbors,” and he’s also the screenwriter tapped for Shawn Levy’s upcoming “Star Wars” feature, “Star Wars: Starfighter.” Tropper co-showruns alongside Cassie Pappas, a writer-producer whose recent work includes Apple TV+’s “Silo” and Netflix’s “Griselda,” with earlier credits on FX’s “Tyrant” and Showtime’s “The L Word.

Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce for Hello Sunshine, while Taylor-Joy executive produces via her LadyKiller banner. Jonathan van Tulleken, who directed the pilot, also executive produces.
