Ahead of its upcoming world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, the first clip has debuted for “Rosebush Pruning,” the latest from Karim Aïnouz (“Firebrand”), an acidic new family satire set inside a sun-baked Catalonian villa where money insulates, rots, and eventually turns inward.

The film centers on American siblings Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, and Lukas Gage, marooned in luxury and drifting through a gilded, co-dependent orbit—ignoring the demands of their blind father while chasing affection and affirmation in the strangest place possible: one another. When Turner’s Jack—the apparent emotional center of the clan—announces he’s moving in with his girlfriend, Martha, the announcement lands like a rupture, and Bell’s Ed begins pulling at the thread of their mother’s death. What follows is the slow collapse of an inherited mythology as secrets surface, loyalties fracture, and the “perfect” family image starts to peel away.
Also starring Elena Anaya, with Tracy Letts, Elle Fanning, and Pamela Anderson, the film is being positioned as a contemporary, outrageous takedown of patriarchal family structures—less warm dysfunction, more designer-clad implosion.
“Rosebush Pruning” is produced by Viola Fügen and Michael Weber (The Match Factory), Simone Gattoni (Kavac Film), Annamaria Morelli (The Apartment), and Vladimir Zemtsov (Gold Rush Pictures), with co-producers Andreas Wentz, Juan Cano “Nono,” and Rachel Dargavel.
