The new spot arrives with a notable calendar tweak: the animated follow-up is now set for April 1, 2026, in the U.S. and several additional markets, while Japan gets the film on April 24, 2026, with other territories rolling out across April.

As with the earlier film, Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto are producing, and the project is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, with Universal handling worldwide distribution.
The returning creative team is also intact: Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are back to direct from a script by Matthew Fogel, and Brian Tyler returns to compose the score.
The voice cast likewise brings back the core lineup, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Brie Larson as Rosalina.
The official movie site currently lists the release window as simply April 2026, but Nintendo’s “Yoshi First Look” announcement puts the date at April 1.
