Matt Murdock is back in the street-level war business, and this time, New York looks even less salvageable than usual. Marvel Television has released a new now-streaming trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again” season 2, putting Charlie Cox’s vigilante back on a collision course with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk as the current season continues to roll out on Disney+. Season 2 premiered on March 24, spans eight episodes, and follows Matt’s fight to tear down Fisk’s corrupt grip on the city from the shadows.

Cox and D’Onofrio remain the center of gravity, but season 2 still has plenty moving around them. Deborah Ann Woll returns as Karen Page, Ayelet Zurer is back as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel returns as Bullseye, and Margarita Levieva is back as Heather Glenn. The season also brings Krysten Ritter back into the fold as Jessica Jones and introduces Matthew Lillard as the mysterious Mr. Charles.
The new wrinkle here is Frank Castle. Alongside the Matt-versus-Fisk escalation, the now-streaming trailer also serves as an early bridge to “The Punisher: One Last Kill,” the Marvel Television Special Presentation written by its star Jon Bernthal and filmmaker Reinaldo Marcus Green, with Green directing, that brings Bernthal back as Frank on May 12. Bernthal and Green previously worked together on “King Richard” and HBO’s “We Own This City,” which gives the pairing some built-in history before Frank spins off into his own special.
The series was created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord, and Matt Corman, and Marvel has already said a third season is in the works. For now, though, the immediate job is simple: keep Matt in the mask, keep Fisk’s boot on the city’s neck, and let Frank Castle’s looming return sharpen the back half of the season even further. “Daredevil: Born Again” season 2 is streaming now on Disney+, and “The Punisher: One Last Kill” arrives May 12.
