Nearly 20 years after “The Devil Wears Prada” turned workplace humiliation, luxury branding, and Miranda Priestly’s withering stare into enduring pop-culture currency, 20th Century Studios is still leaning into the reunion sell for “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”

The official trailer puts Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway right at the center again, with Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci also back as Emily Charlton and Nigel Kipling. The film returns Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel to New York and the offices of Runway Magazine, with the sequel set for an exclusive theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
There is continuity behind the camera, too. David Frankel returns to direct, and Aline Brosh McKenna wrote the screenplay, while Wendy Finerman produces. The expanded ensemble includes Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora, with Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprising roles from the first film.
That reunion is the movie’s strongest hook, and the trailer does not overcomplicate it. It brings Streep and Hathaway back into the same polished, high-pressure world that made the original such a lasting studio hit, then lets the rest of the returning cast and familiar fashion-world machinery fill in the rest.
