The gloves are off again. Hulu has released the first teaser for “A Thousand Blows” Season 2, the gritty 1880s boxing drama from Steven Knight, creator of “Peaky Blinders.” Starring Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Malachi Kirby, the new season premieres on January 9, 2026, on Hulu and Disney+ for bundle subscribers, and internationally on Disney+.

Set one year after the events of Season 1, the new chapter finds Hezekiah (Kirby) a shadow of the man he once was, while Sugar Goodson (Graham) has spiraled into alcoholism and estrangement from his family. Just as the East End of London seems ready to collapse, Mary Carr (Doherty) storms back into town with her loyal second, Alice Diamond, determined to rebuild her gang and reclaim her crown — even if it means risking everything.
Inspired by true stories from the brutal world of 19th-century London street fighting, “A Thousand Blows” continues to fuse raw historical detail with Knight’s signature working-class poetry and moral ferocity. Season 2 promises a darker, more personal reckoning between old rivals and the ghosts of survival that haunt them.
The returning cast includes Kirby, Doherty, Graham, James Nelson-Joyce, Darci Shaw, Hannah Walters, Nadia Albina, Morgan Hilaire, Jemma Carlton, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Jason Tobin, Susan Lynch, Daniel Mays, Gary Lewis, Aliyah Odoffin, and Robert Glenister, with Ned Dennehy and Catherine McCormack joining for Season 2.
“A Thousand Blows” is created, written, and executive produced by Knight, with Graham and Walters producing for Matriarch Productions, Damian Keogh and Kate Lewis for The Story Collective, Tom Miller and Sam Myer for Water & Power Productions, and Jonny Richards for Disney+ EMEA.
The complete second season streams January 9, 2026.
