‘The Beauty’ Teaser: Evan Peters, Rebecca Hall & Anthony Ramos Star In Ryan Murphy’s FX High Fashion/ Body-Horror Conspiracy Thriller

Ryan Murphy had never been shy about glamour with teeth, but FX’s “The Beauty” looked like it wanted to bite clean through the whole runway. The new series, created and written by Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, is based on the comic book series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. It takes the world of international supermodels and twists it into a grisly global thriller, where perfection isn’t just a look, but a weaponized contagion.

In “The Beauty,” supermodels began dying in gruesome and mysterious ways, prompting FBI Agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) to head to Paris and figure out what was behind the killings. What they uncovered was even nastier: a sexually transmitted virus that turned ordinary people into visions of physical perfection, but with horrifying consequences. And the deeper the agents dug, the more the conspiracy pointed toward The Corporation (Ashton Kutcher), a shadowy tech billionaire who had secretly engineered a miracle drug dubbed The Beauty, then built a trillion-dollar empire around it. Protecting that empire meant playing dirty, including unleashing a lethal enforcer known as The Assassin (Anthony Ramos).

As the epidemic spread, Jeremy (Jeremy Pope) was caught in the chaos, searching for purpose, while agents raced across Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York to stop a threat that could alter humanity’s future. The cast also included guest stars Bella Hadid, Isabella Rossellini, Ben Platt, Jessica Alexander and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Murphy and Hodgson executive produced alongside Peters, Ramos, Pope, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, Michael Uppendahl, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Gitter, Peter Schwerin and Haun. Hurley served as a consultant. The series was produced by 20th Television.

FX said “The Beauty” premiered with three episodes on Wednesday, January 21 at 9 p.m. ET on Hulu and 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
