The “The Strangers” brand always sold terror as something stupidly simple: a knock, a mask, a decision made for you. No motive you could bargain with, no monster you could outsmart—just an intrusion that turned ordinary space into a trap. And if this current run was built as a three-part pressure cooker, it was always going to end with someone trying to reclaim the night.

Lionsgate has revealed a new trailer for “The Strangers: Chapter 3,” the final film in the trilogy, and the studio frames it as a “brutal, full-circle” last chapter. Per the official synopsis, Maya (played by Madelaine Petsch) faces the masked killers one final time in a reckoning that leans into survival and revenge—less a continuation than a closing act designed to land the whole arc.
The film was directed by Renny Harlin and written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, based on characters created by Bryan Bertino. The cast also includes Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath, filling out the ensemble around Maya’s last encounter with the killers.
Behind the scenes, the producing team includes Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek. Lionsgate presented the project as a Fifth Element production, in association with Stream Media and Sherborne Media—a clean, top-to-bottom package for a franchise entry that was explicitly branded as the finale.
“The Strangers: Chapter 3” opens in theaters February 6 via Lionsgate. Watch the new trailer below.
